UPDATED: Two grievously injured in separate arguments at Naxxar

Two persons suffered grievous injuries in two separate arguments that took place in Naxxar last night.

In one case, a 19-year-old youth from Ħamrun suffered grievous injuries during the course of an argument and Police were informed their assistance was needed in the Coast Road at about 6.05 pm.

Preliminary investigations on the spot resulted the youth was involved in an argument with two other men whose identity is not as yet known. During the course of the argument a hard object was made use of.

The victim was conveyed to Mater Dei Hospital in an ambulance. District Police are still investigating the incident.

In another incident a 47-year-old Spanish woman who lives in Swieqi was grievously injured during an argument at an entertainment complex along the Coast Road at about 6 pm.

Initial investigations resulted in that an argument had taken place between several persons, including the Spanish woman but also involving a 30-year-old man, a 28-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man all resident at Ħamrun, a 35-year-old woman resident at Tarxien, and a 25-year-old woman, a 19-year-old woman and a 16-year-old youth all residents of Marsa.

The victim was conveyed to Mater Dei for medical treatment. Police are investigating.
