A 61-year-old man who was on a tug boat was seriously injured in an incident earlier today at the Freeport.
TVM is informed that a rope severed when the man was with two other men on the boat and it smashed panes of glass. The injured man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital while the other two men, aged 61 and 36, received onsite treatment but suffered no injuries.
A Freeport spokesperson said the injured man is an employee of Tug Malta but the Freeport had immediately provided a nurse to dispense First Aid after the incident. He was taken to hospital and certified to have suffered serious injuries.
