Health clinic inaugurated in Gudja

Story Published

A new health clinic has been inaugurated in Gudja by Deputy PM and Health Minister Chris Fearne and Parliamentary Secretary for Citizenship and Communities, Alex Muscat.

The centre will be opened daily from Monday to Friday and will offer different services to residents in Gudja and surrounding areas. Among these services there will be a GP, a nursing clinic, physiotherapy, a podiatrist and the possibility of doing blood tests.

Minister Fearne spoke about the Government’s policy to invest in more modern and better equipped health centres in the community because they are an important tool for the health sector since they are the first contact with the patient.

He thanked the National Development Social Fund for its financial support which is helping the Health Ministry to implement an ambitions plan to modernise the health centres and clinics around Malta and Gozo.

On his part, Alex Muscat said that the opening of a health clinic in Gudja holds double satisfaction, because he is responsible for communities and also because providing health in the community has been made possible through the NDSF.

He pointed out that the income for the NDSF all comes from the citizenship by investment scheme which was why it was important for Malta for these types of programme to be sustained and improved.
