Healthcare worker in Covid-19 testing centres resulted positive to virus

Friday’s positive results from Covid-19 tests also showed that a healthcare worker, who works at the Covid Swabbing Centres, had resulted positive.

A statement issued by the Public Health Superintendent pointed out that the person underwent a routine test which is periodically done on all healthcare workers. Therefore, he had no symptoms.

During his duty hours, he was wearing protective gear, therefore there is no risk on clients who visited the Swab Centre. Therefore, it is possible that the worker was in contact with the virus when he was in the community.

As a precaution, the hub was disinfected and will immediately resume with testing clients.
