On the 80th Anniversary of the inclusion of Malta in the Second World War, and on the 75th anniversary of the end of the same war, Heritage Malta is organising a WWII harbour tour.
The Grand Harbour, which was the main target of the Axis’ aerial bombings and between 1940 and 1942, witnessed some of the most ferocious attacks in history, including the famous HMS Illustrious attack. This conflict brought ever lasting change to the configuration of the Grand Harbour, and it not only resulted in the destruction of much of the towns and villages around it but also lead to a considerable loss of life.
Passengers onboard the tour will be given detailed insight into the Grand Harbour’s Word War II history by Matthew Balzan, Principal Curator on Fortifications whilst enjoying the breathtaking views of Valletta and the Three Cities’ skylines.
All Covid-19 health and safety protocols will be observed on board.
