Two persons attempted a hold-up at a shop in Triq il-Wied, Ħal Balzan on Saturday evening at around 10.00.
Police preliminary investigation showed that one of the workers, a 38-year old Pakistani, noted a person on the CCTV system trying to open the cash register, while another worker – a 46-year old Filippino, was alienated by a woman who demanded some products from a high shelving.
The Pakistani went out to stop the thief who threatened him that he was carrying a knife.
Another worker, a 25-year old Moroccan, went to join the other workers after being informed of the attempted theft. Consequently, the woman and man ran away from site.
Police investigations on the case are ongoing.
