I was shocked when I saw him, I tried to save him – man who found Simon Psaila

The man who yesterday discovered the lifeless body of Simon Psaila expressed his sorrow at finding him at the bottom of the sea.

On Facebook he described how he spotted him in the sea and the first thing he did was try to save him. Unfortunately, he said that regretfully, he was too late. He conveyed his condolences to the young man’s family.

The young man was pulled up from the sea at Vecca, in Xemxija yesterday at around 5.30pm by police officers with the help of staff from the Civil Protection Department.

The young man who works as a chef at a hotel, was practicing free diving before going in to work. A magisterial inquiry has been opened.
