If you are travelling tomorrow, plan ahead

Santa Maria is gong to be the busiest day of the year for the Malta International Airport. The company which manages the airport said that around 182 planes are expected to depart and land tomorrow, carrying around 30,000 passengers between them. It added that by the weekend, 182,000 passengers will have passed through the airport this week, which it described as the busiest time of the year.

The MIA said that since the number of passengers will reach around 2,000 people per hour, passengers are urged to plan ahead if they are travelling, although steps have been taken in the departures area so that the check-in of several flights at the same time can be carried out as quickly as possible.

It added that it has taken several other measures for passengers to feel comfortable and to be given the best treatment possible. At the same time, the MIA urged passengers that with a bit of forethought and by taking small measures they can reduce the amount of plastic they use- for this reason it was providing them with the opportunity to fill up their water bottles with water which is suitable for drinking.
