Government in contact with Chilean authorities regarding the Archbishop’s health

The Government has contacted the Chilean Foreign Affairs Ministry requesting all the necessary help and support to be given to Archbishop Charles Scicluna who is currently recovering from a surgical intervention carried out in a Santiago clinic.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Commercial Promotion Carmelo Abela announced this in Parliament this evening.

Both sides of the House and the House Speaker Dr Anglu Farrugia augured the Archbishop a speedy recovery.

Best wishes were expressed from the Opposition by Deputy PN Leader David Agius and the Government’s best wishes were conveyed by Dr Abela.

The Minister said the Government is also in contact with the Malta Curia and the Maltese Consul in Santiago so that all necessary help is given to the Archbishop.
