Chamber of Commerce requests transparent explanations of contract agreed five years ago

The Chamber of Commerce has requested it be given a detailed explanation regarding the five-year contract concluded by Project Malta so that the land which housed the Institute for Tourist Studies be passed to DB Group for a touristic, commercial and residential project as a replacement.

The Chamber has requested this on the basis of the Auditor General’s report and said this has raised issues of possible irregularities in the contract as well as the manner in which it was negotiated. It said these doubts cast shadows on the credibility and transparency of Government in the country.

The CoC further stated that whilst appreciating the Government’s current overall concern about emergency medical issues. It believes there should also be an investigation for the sake of good governance.
