Chamber of Commerce says Budget has addressed a number of social measures but not economic recovery
The Chamber of Commerce said that its proposals to Government were advice that the Budget should safeguard economic growth as well as the quality of life for the people.
It said this Budget has not addressed the impact of Covid-19 on the commercial sector which is very much suffering.
The Chamber said the Government is optimistic the economy will recover but this optimism does not exist in the commercial sector.
In a statement, the Chamber said that it hopes that if the pandemic lengthens, commercial enterprises are given more help that those announced.
On the other hand the Chamber praised the continuation of the wages supplement scheme as well as the vouchers scheme, among others.
