Chamber of Commerce states further financial package required from Government

The Chamber of Commerce has said that a further financial package is required from the Government to continue to cushion the economy against the effects of the pandemic. The Chamber presented its updated proposals to the Government and called for an additional €48 million monthly. It said this will continue to support economic activities that are currently not covered by the packages announced so far.

It said the proposal is that covering the loss of income based on their VAT declarations over the same period last year.

Chamber President, the architect David Xuereb, said in a statement said that Government packages so far have helped to remedy problems caused by the pandemic but maintained that economic prospects are still not good for enterprises and families and therefore further stimulus was required from the Government.
