The Maltese company Premier Capital that holds the licence to operate McDonald’s outlets in six EU countries, has registered a pre-tax profit of €19 million last year.
This is in contrast to 2019 when the company registered a profit of €28 million. Over the last year the company continued with its strategy of investing in five new restaurants while becoming the sole owner in an outlet in Romania after purchasing a share of 10% that was held by one shareholder.
Premier Capital employs 8,726 persons in 159 restaurants in Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and Malta. With the exception of 24 employees who left the company at the beginning of 2020, no cases of employment were lost as a result of the pandemic with the company stating it assured the welfare of all employees and added to support provided by national authorities.
