“God took beside him a man of honour whom I had the privilege of calling Dad”
“God took beside him a man of honour whom I had the privilege of calling Dad.” That is how John Zammit’s daughter, one of his two children, commented after the man from Marsascala passed away this morning after being runover two days ago in Għaxaq.
In a posting on social media, his daughter Patrizia said her late father had influenced her wonderful upbringing and her brother Stefan and she used to accompany their father wherever he went, whether to work, for Christmas festivities or the traditional Sunday car outing after Mass.
She remembered his great joy when she informed him of her pregnancy after which he told one and all he was about to become a grandfather.
She said that despite all the ups and downs over the years he will remain a part of her life forever and her brother and she will remain united as a pillar of support for each other.
Marsascala’s Mayor Mario Calleja told TVM he had been informed of the sad news in the morning by Zammit’s sister. He said John operated a minibus, but the family Zammit is well-known in Marsascala because of their bread bakery.
