The Police arrested four persons in investigations into money laundering

Police Commissioner Angelo Gafà responded to questions by journalists regarding the arrest earlier this week of the former Chief of Staff at the Prime Minister’s Office, Keith Schembri.

He explained that between the night of Monday and Tuesday the Police arrested four persons and collected documents after searches had taken place.

The Commissioner explained that investigations are ongoing regarding allegations of corruption and that four arrested persons are currently on Police Bail for a period of three months and this could be extended.

Asked whether the investigations had taken place at too late a period, Commissioner Gafà said investigations had never stopped and also said there was a detailed and comprehensive Inquiry.
