Fined €25,000 and handed suspended sentence for maltreatment of animals

David Pace has been handed a suspended sentence together with a fine of €25,000 by Magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech after being found guilty of the maltreatment of animals when in December of 2017 he resisted public officials who were carrying out their duties on his farm located at the limits of Biżbiżija.

The officials found that 15 horses were found in a dire state of dehydration through lack of food and water as well as a number of dogs infested with wounds and in a bad state of health. He was also found guilty of having illegal animals in his possession.
