Immigrants rescued in Maltese waters disembark in Malta

The 19 immigrants who were rescued in Maltese waters during last night have arrived and landed in Malta.

The Armed Forces had a busy night with a rescue operation, after a boat carrying the 19 immigrants overturned some 50 nautical miles to the south of Malta.

The boat was carrying 17 men, a pregnant woman and a minor. The rescue operation was successful, with all the immigrants on the boat being saved.
