International group hails Simon Schembri as a hero

PC Simon Schembri, who around a month ago was run over and dragged by a car being driven by Liam Debono while he was on duty, has been hailed as a hero by Good Guys Bad Lands.

This international group supports and creates awareness about the work of public officers who place the safety of the public ahead of their own lives.

PC Schembri was released from hospital a few days ago, where he had been recovering from his near-fatal injuries. As a sign of moral support and respect, and with his permission, the group shared a photo on social media of members of the group posing with Simon Schembri.

Schembri said that for a short time, this beautiful gesture made him forget the pain and trauma he is still experiencing, while he thanked all those who supported him during this difficult time.
