The UK announces quarantine measures to help curb the pandemic

In the United Kingdom a further 351 persons have succumbed to COVID-19. Public Health officials said that in the coming week a total of 10 million body tests will be distributed throughout the UK, tests that will determine whether a person has suffered from COVID-19. Meanwhile the virus reproduction rate has remained stable for the third successive week.

The British Government has announced that those intending to enter the UK from 8th June onward have to undergo 14 days of quarantine and those breaching the order will be fined £Stg 1,000.

Persons arriving in the UK have to give a residential address and will be barred from shopping or visiting relatives.
