Is the 12-year-old case of Madeleine McCann close to being solved?

Twelve years after the disappearance in Portugal of young British girl Madeleine McCann, Portuguese Police say they have suspicions about another person in this case. The Portuguese media are speculating about new details which appear to have ben acquired by investigators, but which are not being disclosed.

Although many have expressed scepticism about whether Madeleine is still alive, they are aware that if she is alive, she would be 16 years old, and would look completely different to what she had looked like at the age of three.

It appears the new theory by the Portuguese Police has led to their requesting funds from the authorities to put them in a better position to investigate.

Even Scotland Yard has requested the Home Affairs Ministry for more money, although some £11 million have been spent so far.

Madeleine McCann has never been traced, after allegedly being snatched by someone exactly twelve years ago to the day, when she was on holiday with her parents in Praia de Luz in Portugal.
