Is there a need for a third dose of the vaccine?

Public Health Superintendent Professor Charmaine Gauci stated that from what is known at this point in time, vaccines against the spread of Covid-19 provide protection for at least six months, possibly for a longer period.

When replying to questions about the vaccine, Professor Gauci stated that the health authorities are following ongoing situations about the vaccines and about how long the period of immunity lasts. The Superintendent added that Malta is also looking into whether they will be a need for a third dose.

Professor Gauci concluded that Malta is prepared in the event there will be a need for a third dose.
