Commemorating the loss of Julian at the place of the tragedy – an appeal for donations for a commemorative plaque
A Balluta football club has launched an initiative to install a permanence remembrance plaque at the spot where youngster, 19-year-old Julian Spiteri, from Attard, tragically lost his life.
Julian died in a traffic incident at Triq l-Infetti in Rabat when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a tree.
During recent hours Julian’s friends and colleagues went to the accident location, placed flowers and his picture and lit candles to express their tribute at the loss of life at such a young age.
The Balluta football club for which Julian played, urged all his close friends to gather funds for a commemorative plaque to be placed at the scene of the accident.
The club said if the donations are more than sufficient, the excess funds will be used for the funeral flower wreaths or go to his parents in their organisation of his final farewell and funeral expenses. Funds may also be donated to charity.
Those interested in donating may do so via Revolut by pledging a donation on 99629354. For the transaction to be valid this has to be covered by a link and sent via WhatsApp or a message.
