Italian student erroneously given six doses of Pfizer vaccine

A 23-year-old Italian woman is being kept under observation at a hospital in Florence after six doses of the Pfizer vaccine were mistakenly administered.

The girl, who is a student, is in good health, after being given fluids and paracetamol to make up for the doses.

The error occurred when the nurse who injected her, administered the entire container that contained the six doses and not one dose.

The case was reported to the Italian health authorities with Italy joining other countries – United States, Australia, Germany and Israel – where there were also cases of vaccine ‘overdoses’.
