Jaiteh Lamin, who was left injured on a pavement after falling the height of two floors at a construction site, is now back home, where he is is convalescing.
This was announced by Caroline Galea, one of the people who found Jaiteh on the pavement, who has been a constant presence in his story.
Jaiteh, who has fractures in his arm and back, is being helped by a carer at his home, which is being paid for by funds raised by the public. The same funds are also assisting to support his family as he is still unable to work, and will probably not be able to do any more construction work.
Galea said Jaiteh is one of the calmest people she has ever met, who thinks of others, is a good communicator, and has a smile that lights up a room. She said these last few weeks in hospital were difficult times but now she is enjoying watching him smile again.
The contractor Glen Farrugia, with whom Jaiteh worked and who allegedly left him on the pavement has been charged with grievously bodily harm.
