If you own a 4×4 you can participate in an activity to benefit ‘Movember’

At the beginning of November, the Marigold Foundation’s ‘Movember’ activities will begin with a rally for four-wheel drive vehicles. During this activity funds will be collected in aid of the campaign against cancer conditions that affect males. The rally will begin in Malta and end in Gozo.

All those owning a four-wheel drive are being invited to participate in the activity.

The Foundation’s Chairperson Michelle Muscat said the rally is an initiative to bring together 4×4 owners whether males or females and to create greater awareness that cancer affects both males and females and therefore people are informed of cancer indications.

She continued by saying a stop has to be made of taboo and the onset of shyness to enable males to carry out checks on themselves for prostate and testicular cancer.

John Bundy, the organiser of the rally on behalf of Marigold, said that on 3rd November 4×4 owners are urged to congregate at Birżebbuġia for the drive to Ċirkewwa to board a Gozo Channel vessel and then drive from Mġarr in Gozo to Ħondoq.

He said donations will also cover the vessel crossing. Participating will be Malta’s Armed Forces and the Police Corps. Ms Muscat said the funds gathered will be used in a campaign to prevent male loss of life from prostate and testicular cancer.
