Man accused of inciting hate against the Police on Facebook detained under arrest

Magistrate Yana Micallef Stafrace ordered that 31-year-old Josef Vincenti of Żabbar be detained under arrest after he was accused of having made hate comments and threats against the Police and by doing so tried to incite others to break the Law.

Vincenti posted his comments on Facebook in reaction to a story published by the media regarding the number of speed contravention tickets issued by Police Speed Guns for excessive speeding.

He was also charged with being a repeat offender and of having breached Court conditions imposed when he was granted bail. Vincenti entered a plea of not guilty.
