Received love messages sent eight months ago, today

Love messages that were at least eight months old and were sent on St Valentine’s Day were received by a number of persons today who are subscribers to a large US telecommunications company.

It seems that a technical defect eight months ago confused a number of people and induced sadness in others.

There were cases of those who received a message from a person who is now deceased. Some also complained of being disconcerted in receiving messages from former partners.

Syniverse, which provides services for a number of telecommunications companies, tendered an apology for any inconvenience caused. It said the situation has now been resolved and internal procedures are being investigated.

About 168,149 people received messages that are eight months old with some claiming to have received messages that were at least two years old.
