Work completed on Attard public dispensary

Following the completion of works on public dispensaries at Żebbuġ, Pietà and Xewkija, work has now also been completed on the Attard dispensary. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health, Chris Fearne, said that besides this offering the traditional services of a doctor and a nurse, four new services will also be available, including a service for mental health and a podiatric service. There will also be a pathological service as well as healthy living.

Dr Fearne said that more importantly than the upgrading carried out at Attard are the services that will be provided for about 11,000 local residents as well as those close by which total 26,000 people in all. He added that primary care is the backbone of health services which is why concentration is being emphasised on this sector.
