Johnson & Johnson to start vaccine distribution in EU today

As of today, the company Johnson & Johnson is expected to start distributing the Jansen vaccine in EU member states.

The company and the European Commission have an agreement whereby it is expected give EU countries 55 million vaccines by the end of June.

The vaccine is given in a single dose with an efficiency ranging from 66.3% within 14 days of administration to 93.1% in terms of efficiency to keep people out of the hospital and 75% to stop people dying .

The same vaccine has been found to be effective against South African and Brazilian variants.
