Journal of Official Statistics launched

The National Statistics Office and the Malta Statistics Authority have for the first time published an official journal known as the ‘Jounal of Official Statistics’ which deals with statistics, which are considered very important in order that policy makers have information which is accurate and in-keeping with the needs of society.

At the launch of its publication and in a message via video-conferencing, Finance Minister Edward Scicluna his message said that a lot of investment had gone into ensuring the statistics were collected faster and in a timely manner. He argued that NSO and Authority professionals showed great professionalism in gathering information so that statistics were compiled more accurately without added costs for economic operators.

The first publication deals with six particular areas including the rate of unemployment, industrial production and poverty along with social exclusion.
