Journalist killed in Bulgaria

Victoria Marinova, an investigative Bulgarian journalist, aged 30, has been killed in the city of Ruse.

She was found dead yesterday, laying naked in a difficult to access area near the Danube river bank and was only identified today.

According to the Bulgarian police, the woman was raped and beaten before being suffocated to death.

The newspaper for which the journalist worked was investigating corruption. The Police are investigating whether the journalist’s murder was related to her work.
