Keith Schembri drops libel case against The Malta Independent

Former Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister Keith Schembri, has dropped a libel case he had filed against newspaper The Malta Independent regarding a 2014 story about a financial transaction of €750,000 into one of Schembri’s companies in the British Virgin Islands.

The Court was informed about this a few minutes before the case was due to be heard. Schembri withdrew the case after his lawyer Andrew Sciberras renounced to his brief.
