Commercial Aviation Association seeks clarification re eligibility for Government financial aid

The Malta Commercial Aviation Association (MBAA) has requested clarification from the Government regarding its financial aid package.

An MBAA statement said aviation commerce is Malta’s greatest aviation sector and contributes more than €510 million annually to the economy while employing over 3,000 people.

It said its operators are committed to continue operations when the pandemic is over. The Association further said it has instructed it members to apply for financial aid and support but so far has received no response on the eligibility of its members to this aid.

The statement said it operators are still carrying out service flights to transport medical equipment and repatriation flights.
