Bishop Teuma donates his Episcopal Ring to the Kordin Corrective Facility’s chapel

Gozo Bishop Anton Teuma has donated his Episcopal Ring to the chapel in the Kordin Corrective Facility. He did this during a Holy Mass celebrated at the Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary for which a number of prison inmates were invited during a pilgrimage organised by the Agency for Corrective Services at Gozo’s national Sanctuary to Our Lady.

During the Mass, Bishop Teuma said he was proud to welcome the prisoners for the occasion and said it is never too late to convert. During his homily he presented the ring to show the link between the Gozo Diocese and the Agency for Corrective Services.

He praised the Agency for having accepted to attend the ceremony and said he will be so that this pilgrimage will be held annually.

The Sanctuary’s Rector, Fr Gerald Buhagiar, announced that the furniture needed for the retirement home that is being built under the Sanctuary’s parvis will be constructed by prison inmates.

Among others, present for the Holy Mass was Cardinal Mario Grech who came from Rome for the occasion.
