EU considering that from 1st July frontiers will be reopened but not to US citizens
The EU is considering that from 1st July onward it will reopen its frontiers but not to US citizens. A number of Member Countries are eager to reopen their frontiers but others are having second thoughts because of possibilities of the pandemic continuing to spread.
The 27 Member Countries have to agree on the measures to be taken for the arrival of external visitors after decisions have been taken on which arrivals are to be permitted.
Meanwhile the International Monetary Fund is forecasting that international economic activity will reduce by about 5% this year, double that of the forecast made in April. The IMF is forecasting the UK economy will drop by 10% but that France, Spain and Italy will fare even worse.
