Lack of agreement may lead to another US Government shutdown

Talks between Republicans and Democrats to avoid another shutdown of the US Government have ended without any conclusive agreement.

The negotiators hoped that an agreement would be reached by today to give enough time for the legislation to be passed by Friday, when the agreement reached last month on federal funds expires.

Donald Trump’s insistence that the wall between Mexico and the US should be financed by the federal budget is leading to a lack of agreement between the Republicans and Democrats.
