Large protests in Czech Republic demanding resignation of Prime Minister

Tens of thousands of citizens are protesting in the capital of the Czech Republic, calling for the resignation fo Prime Minister Andrej Babis, who is being accused of defrauding millions of Euro in EU subsidies.

The organisers said that the protests in Prague were atteneded by 120,000 people. If this number is confirmed, this protest will be the largest one since the fall of Communism during the 1989 Revolution.

PM Babis has denied the fraud charges and has lashed out angrily against a preliminary EU commission auditors’ report in which he was asked to return millions of Euro in subsidies.
