Last farewell today to Prince Philip

The British Royal Family will today give its last farewell to Prince Philip in circumstances that lead to a limited funeral service, as the Duke of Edinburgh wanted, and also due to the Covid pandemic. The Duke’s funeral service will be held at the St George’s chapel in Windsor Castle.

Buckingham Palace also announced that only relatives will attend the Royal funeral service, with the congregation consisting of only 30 members of the Royal Family.

The funeral will commence with a cortege from the state entrance of Windsor and resumes till the chapel. Some of the Royal Family members will participate in the funeral cortege.

In Malta, Prince Philip will be given a full salute from the Upper Barakka, an afternoon commemoration which will be organized by the Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna and the Malta Tourism Authority.

The national station will today transmit programmes to commemorate Prince Philip, who died a week ago. At 10.00am, Radju Malta will present a programme with interviews and links, while TVM2 will transmit a special programme at 3.15pm during Prince Philip funderal service.
