Launch of third edition of Malta Maritime Summit

Infrastructure and Transport Minister Ian Borg has launched the third edition of the Malta Maritime Summit,which will be held in October of next year.

Summit organiser John Gauci Maistre stated that the next edition will give a voice to the industry at internationl level, through the participation of exponents from countries including Australia, Cameroon and European countries.

Minister Borg stated that the Maltese maritime industry has continued to register growth, bringing the total of registered vessels to 80,000 gross tons.

Dr Borg added that the Malta Maritime Summit will continue to strengthen this industry, which provides employment for over 20,000 and contributes up to 12% of the gross domestic product.
