UPDATED: Woman found dead at Balluta Bay had drowned

The Police have not yet identified the woman whose dead body was found at sea this morning at the Balluta bay in St Julian’s.

An autopsy on the woman’s corpse established that she had drowned. Indications are that the woman is an Asian national, aged around 40.

The Police were informed about the discovery of the woman’s body at sea at around 7.00am. Later on, the corpse was brought on shore by a medical team assisted by police officers.

Duty Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit appointed an inquiry of experts on the case.
