London: Seven injured as double decker bus hits low bridge

In London, seven passengers were hurt when a double decker smashed the bus roof under a low bridge.

The accident happened yesterday evening at around 9.15 when the driver of the bus tried to pass under a bridge although there were clear signs that the bridge was low.  On impact, the bus roof was thrown apart, injuring passengers that were sitting in the upper deck.

Two ambulances and vehicles with medical teams immediately arrived on the spot for assistance.  Four of the injured person were taken to hospital where they were found to be suffering from slight injuries.
