As the beautiful weather emerged today, hundreds of Maltese this morning went to Ċirkewwa to enjoy the first week-end of the new year in Gozo. tvm.com.mt is informed that by early this morning a long queue of cars were waiting to board the ferry for Gozo. This site is also informed that the Gozo Channel is operating its current three vessels continuously to ferry as much passengers as possible to Gozo in the least time possible. However, it seems that the Gozo Channel ships are not coping with the great number of cars waiting at the Ċirkewwa harbour.
The same situation was evident on the last Saturday and Sunday of last year when more than 21,000 passengers – an increase of 81% on the same two days of 2014 – crossed over to Gozo.
