An elderly driver had a lucky escape when he ended up with his car in the soil in Buġibba. The incident occurred in Triq il-Plajja ta’ Bognor at about 3.30 p.m.
It appears, from first available information, that the driver, an 80-year-old resident of St Paul’s Bay, lost control of his car. The driver hit the pavement, mounted it, twisted the metal barriers around the promenade and continued going down into the soil.
