Teargas was not purchased in Malta; fake news by Malta media – the Russian Government

The Russian news agency TASS is reporting it is untrue that Russian diplomats in Malta secretly purchased teargas to be sent to Venezuela.

The article quoted a statement issued by the Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry that was published as a reaction to media reports in Malta and stated that Russian diplomats in Malta comport themselves according to the Vienna Convention for Diplomatic Services.

The Ministry said the incorrect information carried by Malta’s media is an example of a lack of professionalism and contains hysterical echoes against Russia and is not propitious to good relations between Russia and Malta.
