“Malta is not yet rid of the virus” – Profs. Charmaine Gauci

We are still not in a position to say that Malta is completely rid of the Coronavirus.

This was said by Professor Charmaine Gauci during today’s press conference as she explained that 1% of people who submit to testing and test positive for the virus are asymptomatic.

This, said Professor Gauci, means that there is still a spread in the community and therefore we cannot say that Malta is free of the virus.

She said time would tell and that the Authorities would continue with their work to ensure the health and safety of the public.
