A dress designed by Maltese designers Charles & Ron has found itself at an exhibit at Buckingham Palace, in the heart of the British capital, London. The designers were chosen to represent Malta at the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange.
This is a fashion showcase for clothes designers from Commonwealth countries which is being hosted by the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. The curator of the exhibit is the editor of Vogue magazine, Hamish Bowles.
The idea is for designers to collaborate with artists from Commonwealth countries and together explore their talents in the fashion world.
For example, Charles & Ron joined forces with the Indian artisan designer Khushboo so that the dress they designed would include beads which have all been sewn by hand.
The inauguration was held last night in the presence of various members of the Royal family, distinguished guests and personalities from the entertainment world.
Charles & Ron also had the chance to meet with the Countess of Wessex Sophie, who is the wife of Prince Edward (the Queen of England’s youngest son) and the former international super model Naomi Campbell.
The Maltese designers told TVM that they are very excited about the fact that they were chosen to represent Malta on this occasion.
