Maltese economy has continued to grow in first three months of this year

Provisional estimates by the National Office of Statistics show that the Maltese economy has continued to grow in the first three months of this year.

The NSO said that the Gross Domestic Product between January and March increased by €59 million Euro, and reached almost €3,193 million. This was 1.9% higher than for the same three months of 2019. Head to head, the GDP for March 2020 was €6,264.

From the aspect of production, all the sectors of the economy have grown except for agriculture and fisheries. The largest growth was in the construction industry which increased its contribution to the economy by more than 14%.
