Maltese singers excel at Rumanian music festival

Rihanna Aqulina and Eliza Attard have won their category in the Rumanian music festival for Children.

This contest, which celebrated its 10th anniversary, brings together several young singers from different nations.

12 year old Rihanna left her mark at this festival when she won category E, with the song Somebody’s Got a Hold on Me. Her mentor is Maria Abdilla.

Eliza Attard, 16, participated in Category G. She won first place in this category with the song You Do not Own Me . Glen Vella was her mentor.

Last but certainly not least, Maria Dijnovic, who formed part of category C, got to third place with the song No Roots. Phyllisienne Brincat is her mentor.

The edition of this year’s festival saw 70 participants from 13 different countries. All songs were accompanied with choreography by Paula Mitru, and the results were decided by a jury panel made up of 11 members.

The singers were selected after taking part in the Malta International festival Singer’s Euro Stars Festival.
