Maltese travelling to Sicily will have to present proof of negative PCR test in addition to vaccination certificate – reports

The ANSA news agency has reported that anyone arriving in Sicily from Malta, or travellers who have been to Malta in the last 14 days, must present a negative swab test result, in addition to their vaccination certificate.

The President of the Region of Sicily, Nello Musumeci, ordered that this decree signed yesterday applies to tourists arriving in Sicily from Malta, Spain, Portugal and from non-European countries – India, Brazil, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Asked by TVM about this decree, the Italian Ambassador to Malta said that they were investigating this information with the Sicilian authorities. He added that in any case, people arriving from Malta may be subjected to a spot test upon arrival in Sicily.
