MAM appeals for more restrictions over the weekend

In a statement, the MAM has appealed to the authorities to impose more restrictions over the weekend to better control the spread of Covid-19.

This association said this in the light of the fact that the wards at Mater Dei are becoming packed to the brim with Covid-19 patients, while the number of infections are increasing.

The Medical Association of Malta believes that on the weekend, from Friday to Sunday, the authorities should enforce a mitigation measure which would make it illegal to be out after a 9pm curfew, at least for a period of two weeks.

It also said that inspections in areas such as Paceville and Bugibba need to be carried out, and further inspections are needed over the Carnival holidays.
